Seeking 2011 Intern!

Small Step Farm, a diverse vegetable, herb and flower farm in the Mad River Valley of Vermont, is seeking an intern to work closely alongside the farmer and other part-time staff. Daily tasks include greenhouse work, transplanting, seeding, weed control, harvest and delivery. Applicants should possess a positive attitude, high degree of professionalism, interest in learning and a passion for local food and community. Previous farm and/or manual work experience is required in addition to a strong work ethic in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to work efficiently in a group or independently. Interns will gain knowledge in the areas of farming at a higher level, including soil fertility, crop planning, budgeting, marketing, et cetera.
