Transplanting!

The Japanese Paper Pot Transplater in action.  Allyson is loving, and sometimes hating, this new contraption.  She and our work-trader Brooke have been busy getting in dozens of trays of spinach, fennel, scallion, cilantro, and basil.

Sometimes we run out of space on this small farm, and we stick things between, beside and under other veggies.  At times it works great, you harvest one the other is at a head start or they grow side by side.  This, spinach between kale, did not work so well, perhaps too shady, and it was also very dry for a couple weeks after transplanting.  But it was worth a try.
