Abundance at Small Step!

The Produce List we e-mail to chefs and grocery stores each week is lengthening.  Not only are there herbs (parsley, cilantro, thyme, oregano, sage, lemon balm) and greens (salad mix, head lettuce, spinach, arugula, kale, chard) but there are now new potatoes, carrots, beets, cabbages, radishes, and finally.......tomatoes are starting to ripen!
This year we have our tomato house at the farm, and we are also selling tomatoes from a new greenhouse that Asa and I put up at home in Roxbury.  So, soon enough, there will be tomatoes galore!  Almost all heirloom too.  Cherokee Purple, Indigo Rose, Black Krim, Brandywine, Green Zebra, Valencia, the list goes on! My new favorite, that I've been eating at home every day, is Moskvich-  delicious deep red heirloom.
